Bruckmühl, 25.06.2013: Benjamin Mazatis finally took delivery of his new company car, the brand new Formula Renault 1.6 litre, 140 hp, last week. The 15-year-old from Bruckmühl immediately completed a first rollout on the Salzburgring.
After the first laps in the brand new formula racing car, the team travelled to the Hungaroring in Hungary for two days. The new vehicle was put through its paces during extensive test drives in sometimes extreme temperatures.
Mazatis shone with a flawless pace over the entire weekend and tested various set-up variants of his Formula Renault 1.6.
The up-and-coming formula racing talent from Bruckmühl was hired by the three-time Porsche Carrera Supercup world champion team Lechner Racing (Salzburg) as a figurehead for her return to professional formula racing on the back of her successes in last year's BMW talent scouting programme.
The team will be unveiled to the international press in mid-July to present its plans for the 2014 racing season. It has already been announced in advance that the team led by Walter and Robert Lechner has brought a former Formula 1 constructor on board to lead the youngsters to victory in their first racing season.
