Bruckmühl/Woking (UK), 24.06.2014: Motorsport youngster Benjamin Mazatis has established himself in the Top 5 of the McLaren Performance Academy with outstanding performances. After the first third of the training year, the 16-year-old from Bruckmühl is in an excellent 4th place overall among a total of 18 international participants.
„That's a great success, but of course I know that a lot can still happen in the remaining six months. I'm only completing a preparatory year this season with the Berlin Mücke Motorsport team for my entry into Formula racing. Since race results will also be included in the overall standings, which I logically cannot yet show in the tests, I don't see myself as the favourite and am therefore very proud of this fourth place. I have already learned a great deal at McLaren, which will help me for my future career,“ says the talented young motorsport driver, already looking forward to the next training days at McLaren in September.
In addition, the Bruckmühl resident and his team, „Unbeatable“ (as they were dubbed by McLaren employees), won the Team Challenge on the first review day, just as they had in March.
„Testing days with Mücke Motorsport at Slovakiaring and Sachsenring are coming up soon,“ Mazatis informs. „Of course, I'll try to successfully put what I've learned in England into practice then.“
