Benjamin Mazatis also starts in the second race of the fully electric NXT Gen Cups from 16 to 18 August at Nürburgring. This is the second of a total of four race weekends of the NXT Gen Cup as part of the DTM. The 26-year-old from Bruckmühl will once again be driving a 250 hp Mini LRT NXT 1 piloting in a starting field of around 18 racing cars. 20 minutes of racing action with numerous wheel-to-wheel duels and overtaking manoeuvres are held by a battery, before it has to be recharged with decommissioned i3 batteries after the race. The series concept is clearly focused on sustainability.

Following his successful debut in the electric series, where he quickly adapted to the new conditions, secured very good points, and started from the front row in the very second race, the next step is now to be taken at the Nürburgring. Benjamin Mazatis wants to achieve his first electric podium on the track he knows like the back of his hand.

„Naturally, it will be a challenge, as some of my competitors still have more experience with electric cars, but I was already able to show my class at the Norisring and now I want to achieve the first podium finish and, ideally, the first race win. I probably know the track better than anyone else in the field, as this is my sixth time here this year, even if this time it's exclusively the short GP circuit and not the Nordschleife. Nevertheless, I want to play to this wealth of experience,“ said Bruckmühler.

This is what NXT Gen Cup organiser Fredrik Lestrup says about Benjamin's participation:

As one of the relatively few German participants, fans' attention was on Norisring On his side. Furthermore, Benjamin was personally seen as a likeable figure within the team and in external, media-relevant perception, making the engagement particularly successful. After the first race weekend also served as a test, and Benjamin now knows the car and how to work with our race engineers, we would like to keep Benjamin in the series and also give him the chance to build on the good start, and demonstrate his potential through undoubtedly possible race wins or podium finishes.

This is what Benjamin Mazatis says personally about his deployment:

I am absolutely delighted that the opportunity has arisen to be back in a car at the Nürburgring. The NXT Gen Cup offers precisely the platform that I want to offer my partners and sponsors alongside the international GT3 top events, and in which I also want to continue to develop as a driver. The racing series addresses the essential issues of our time and helps to develop new, sustainable technologies and achieve a pioneering status in terms of sustainability. Therefore, the Cup also fits very well with my campaign: „Celebrating the Future Together“. In addition, the collaboration is highly professional and trustworthy, and we are in very good discussions regarding the rest of the season and the coming years. I hope to be able to announce more after a successful weekend.
