With McLaren power into the new season: Benjamin Mazatis was again accepted into the McLaren Performance Academy in 2015. This marks the 17-year-old's second year in the British Formula 1 team's development programme. In 2014, Mazatis was awarded the ‚High Level of Driving Professionalism‘ diploma. Following his convincing performances in the demanding workshop series, McLaren decided to include Mazatis in its own junior programme again this year.

„I would like to thank the McLaren Performance Academy for the trust they have placed in me,“ says Mazatis. „I'm already looking forward to the upcoming workshops and visits to the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking. In my first year on the McLaren development programme, I learned many valuable things that will help me on my future path in motorsport. I am very proud to continue being part of the McLaren family.“

The McLaren Performance Academy is preparing Mazatis in various ways for his continued motorsport career. In addition to physical training sessions, he receives coaching on the technical aspects of racing. Proper nutrition and media relations are also part of the development plan. The workshops are conducted by professionals with years of Formula 1 experience. Several times this year, Mazatis will travel to McLaren's headquarters in Woking, UK, for multi-day training and fitness programmes.

„This year I'm finally embarking on my first season in Formula racing,“ says Mazatis. „With the support of the McLaren Performance Academy, I feel perfectly prepared. I know I still have a lot to learn in motorsport. But with the guys at McLaren, I have the best possible teachers. So, let's get stuck in!“

In 2015, Mazatis will race in the newly created ADAC Formula 4. There, the Bruckmühl native will go head-to-head with, among others, Mick Schumacher, the son of Formula 1 record world champion Michael Schumacher. Mazatis will compete for kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport in the 160 hp Formula 4 race car. In 2014, he already completed a year of training and development with the traditional Berlin racing team. The season begins from April 24th to 26th, 2015, at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Over a total of eight events, the ADAC Formula 4 will appear as part of the ADAC GT Masters as well as the internationally popular touring car series DTM.
